2. You mean the "number 1" economic superpower, right? If that is what you meant, then you could certainly make the case for it.....but if you mean first as in before all anyone else, no they aren't. and fwiw, Europe is a continent.....

4. Probably true because The European Union is composed of 27 independent sovereign countries and 500,000,000 citizens.

6. That's funny. You've got to take all those European countries just to match the US. No wonder their unemployment is so high and their productivity is so low. (BTW, their population is almost 3 times the US.)

8. Why use the term "superpower" at all? It's silly. It's meaningless. Why not say the EU has the highest GDP with USA second? ((and why do people get so upset when one even hints that the USA might not be 1st (or "super") at something?))
9. Europe is not a country. America is the greatest economic power in the world. The European Union is a collection of countries that have bounded together to trade easier. If I buy French wine, it says it's a product of France, not Europe.
10. The European Union is comprised of 27 member states....27 member states combined GDP narrowly beats the US and you think europe is an economic super power?....individually Europe has a pathetic GDP.
11. The United States represents over 1/4 of the global economic market. If you LUMP ALL OF EUROPE TOGETHER then they MIGHT hold a candle to us economically, but individually they're NOTHING compared to the largest economic market in the world. And that's the UNITED STATES.
