How can I find out the number of homeless across the world?

How can I find out the number of homeless people across the world separated by country??? I am in the middle of a myspace and/or facebook rant... And would like some nice firm numbers to back myself...

1. I don't think that is possible. They don't announce themselves in any way.
2. First of all, what do you consider homeless? Is living in a tent homeless? If so, all Bedouins would qualify even though that is their way of life. People live on boats. Salesmen I know live hotel to hotel. Thousands of people in Indonesia and India live in cardboard boxes. That is just somethings I've seen in my travels. Your problem is you are thinking in American terms and the world is a big place.
