What is a good website or source that gives a synoposis of every country in the world?

Kind of a Cliff Notes on world diplomacy explaining which countries have certain governments and how they interact with each other. A brief history of how they were started and their current political climate. I know about CIA World Fact book, but I'm looking for something a little more in depth.

1. Sounds like you need the CIA World Factbook. Talks about every country's economy, population, government, import/exports, gdp, etc. 2005 being their latest edition...
