World Fact Site

why are lonelyplanet people so wierd? is it an art site?

i mean their photos are limited, and the ones they do have of a city or country are horrible photos for information, maybe good for art's sake... i mean if its a site all about art then yea it might b good i dono i personnaly think its akward and wierd... if its an informational site they are horrible. world fact book and state.gov have such better info. lonelyplanet's stories are so wierd like about one lady who has showering on the trans-siberian railway in the sink perfectly... wtf ahh i cant stand them, waste of bandwidth and my time. any1 else feel the same way? my teacher reccomended it as a site to gain information on my research project.... well my project isnt about how to shower on the transsiberian railway...

1. I travel a lot and I think Lonely Planet have good general guides to countries and cities. Sometimes they are just too touristy for me but they usually offer a few "local hangouts" where you can meet people and find other places off the beaten path. I do not use the website but you are right for on-line info I like world fact book. Maybe go to a bookstore or library and browse the books on the area you are doing your report about. I find the texts helpful and though they do contain sories like showering on a train they are interjected to give flavor rather than being the body of the book.
